Nov 11, 2013 update. Progress on rebuilding my dock. Deliberately chose exactly the same surface area as the old dock.
But this dock is hopefully stronger than the old one. Here’s some of its features.
And new chains were attached to the corners, re-using under-water and on-shore anchor points.

March 21, 2013. The old dock looked like this.
August 6, 2013 update. The plans for Hudson Island had, and there originally existed-, a “community dock” on the north end of the Island. Sure enough, looking at a poor photocopy of the map, shows where the dock was.
Jan 7, 2014. The products used for finishing the cedar decking, were by System Three, their S1 epoxy sealer, then covered by WR-LPU acrylic polyurethane topcoat Clear Gloss with UV protection.
