As the expansion of my 2nd floor mezanine progresses, here are some pictures.
Nov 13, 2012 update. Here’s how the timbers look after staining and urethane coating.
Oct 18, 2012 update. Dan made these baseboards, shown here with the shaper in the background. Stained and now getting a urethane protective coating.
Sept 28, 2012 update. Here’s a nice picture of Dan, re-sawing fir into lumber strips that we will put through the shaper to make baseboards all around the hangar.
Oct 19, 2012. On the 2nd floor mezanine, we created a sawdust free zone with air conditioning, for an exercise room. Notice the floor has plexiglass to allow natural light to reach the main level. Those plexiglass light-passages are Roger’s excellent creation.
Here’s the steps for my stairs, soon to be assembled.
To dress-up the main floor, I asked Dan to put up these sconces (lights) on a dimmer switch, to give some “ambience”, for situations like hosting parties, dances, performances, etc.
