I needed a way to drain a swamp that developed after a big rainstorm, and apparently would persist all winter during the rainy season. It used to be hidden until the brush was mulched.
January 25, 2014 update. The swamp is gone, the mud is not fully dry, the view is improved by removal of a temporary woodworking shelter. It will take some time for the scars to heal and look good again, but it’s not too shabby.
Jan 12, 2014, The attic has a hot water heater that runs constantly with electricity, whether or not anyone lives there. That wastes electricity.
So, we’re replacing it on-demand electric heaters that will be in the crawlspace below the floor.
Also, apologies for posting pictures of attic insulation. But this is rarely seen, and I wanted to judge if I needed to add extra ceiling insulation.
February 21, 2014 update. More crappy pictures of up inside the attic above the log house.
There’s spare fir logs stored up there, which could be used for making furniture.
There is an antenna up in the attic. It’s cable runs down to near the wood stove. But there’s no identification of it’s characteristics on it.
Nearby in the attic, is a very long HDMI cable, running from above the kitchen to above the master bedroom.
Here’s pictures of the labels on the hot water heater tank up there.
