Pictures and story of some of the things that happened in August 2014 on Hudson Island.
A quaint sidewalk is growing longer.
As you can see, laying stone along the ground, piece by piece, is hard work but pays off in the future. It’s really nice natural look (and I’m writing this little updated sentence in October 2015, so I know it looks great in the future).
Art sold me his mini-excavator and bobcat at a good price. The mini excavator is Hitachi Landy EX3OUR, and the bobcat is 463.
A remarkable picture of a baby seal coming near Don in the boat.
I bought a lot of Renato’s metal shop equipment, and it was moved into storage in a Chemainus storage container.
Meanwhile at home. My big aquarium had a disaster, and everything died. (A leaky connection sprayed cold tapwater into the sump, gradually replacing all the warm saltwater with cold tapwater). We’ve used this disaster to clean up and start fresh. During that process, I sifted all the sand, and recovered all of these:
Operculum of Snails.
Do a google images search of “snail operculum pendant” to see some very artistic applications of this beautiful shape.
